petrol stations on strike?

Malaysia petrol stations on strike?

rumours spread like wildfire (一发不可收拾)this evening, at the very beginning, saying that Petronas petrol station will not accept credit cards from tomorrow onwards, an hour later the story "upgrade", becomes "petrol stations on strike and all closed tomorrow. "

as a result, many kiasu people rushed to petrol stations to fill up their tanks and caused terrible traffic jams, just like the day when our BELOVED pm announced the fuel hike. many other people saw the jam, and afraid of another round of fuel hike and joined the queqe.

before several attempts to confirm the accuracy of the credit card thing and the so-called strike (which operators and authority rebuke the rumour at the end), i personally don't think it can be true.

operators have been fighting for more commission, stop credit card transaction does make sense, in order to save the service charge on top of the little income as they claim. but this obviously can't be the valid reason to cause panic. soon enough, on strike version of "rumour" starts spreading.

i personally don't believe, as my past 20-ish year living in Malaysia, i have never heard of anything like on strike. with great Asian values, people normally bitch and curse at the back, but hardly speak up and ask for what they want as a whole. more importantly, all these operators are businessmen, who can guarantee their loss/ gain, oppose to their personal greed, if they go on stike.

however, after the political tsunami in malaysia's general election this year, what seems impossible ought to be possible and workable. what will happen is really unpredictable (though i still don't believe the on strike story as few operators told me personally there is no such thing).

anyway, who knows what the govt will announce again .... as a young and energetic fellow, i find it difficult to cope with the govenment's ever-changing fluctuating policies. can't belive these grey-hair belly-bouncing fellows are actually more innovative and adaptive than i do.

well, if this is merely rumour, who started this, and what's the motive behind? if this turns out to be true(who knows)......
