petrol stations on strike?

Malaysia petrol stations on strike?

rumours spread like wildfire (一发不可收拾)this evening, at the very beginning, saying that Petronas petrol station will not accept credit cards from tomorrow onwards, an hour later the story "upgrade", becomes "petrol stations on strike and all closed tomorrow. "

as a result, many kiasu people rushed to petrol stations to fill up their tanks and caused terrible traffic jams, just like the day when our BELOVED pm announced the fuel hike. many other people saw the jam, and afraid of another round of fuel hike and joined the queqe.

before several attempts to confirm the accuracy of the credit card thing and the so-called strike (which operators and authority rebuke the rumour at the end), i personally don't think it can be true.

operators have been fighting for more commission, stop credit card transaction does make sense, in order to save the service charge on top of the little income as they claim. but this obviously can't be the valid reason to cause panic. soon enough, on strike version of "rumour" starts spreading.

i personally don't believe, as my past 20-ish year living in Malaysia, i have never heard of anything like on strike. with great Asian values, people normally bitch and curse at the back, but hardly speak up and ask for what they want as a whole. more importantly, all these operators are businessmen, who can guarantee their loss/ gain, oppose to their personal greed, if they go on stike.

however, after the political tsunami in malaysia's general election this year, what seems impossible ought to be possible and workable. what will happen is really unpredictable (though i still don't believe the on strike story as few operators told me personally there is no such thing).

anyway, who knows what the govt will announce again .... as a young and energetic fellow, i find it difficult to cope with the govenment's ever-changing fluctuating policies. can't belive these grey-hair belly-bouncing fellows are actually more innovative and adaptive than i do.

well, if this is merely rumour, who started this, and what's the motive behind? if this turns out to be true(who knows)......

Final Divetination --- Murder under the water

my very caring editor incidentally asked me to flip through one of the local daily newspapers, and deliberately focus on a page with catchy lead "husband murdered wife during honeymoon dive."

well, i guess all my collegues well aware of my hobby and sincerely care about my safety, but prefer to advise indirectly through another medium.

It was said that the husband suspected of turning off the wife's oxygen tank, and get huge sum of insurance money after her death. So, lesson learnt, never stay in front or below your hubbie when you go scuba diving, u never know what they will do to your tank. (should try and see whether it is really possible)

Off course, I don't know the real story. I rather it is some kind of supernatural thing, what do you thing?

23, June SYDNEY, Australia (AP)- A Birmingham, Alabama man has been charged with murder in Australia for allegedly drowning his wife during a honeymoon dive on the Greet Barrier Reef.

Police are preparing a warrant for the arrest of the suspect, David Gabriel Watson, who faces a maximum penalty of life in prison if convicted of murder.

The suspect was not present in court and his exact whereabouts were unclear.

The charge was formally made by a coroner in Sydney, Australie who conducted a months-long inquest into whether there were suspicious circumstances in the death of 26-year-old Christina Mae "Tina" Watson on Oct. 22, 2003.

She drowned while diving on a historic shipwreck near the northeastern city of Townsville as her husband of 11 days looked on.

An autopsy found no pre-existing medical condition that could have explained Tina Watson's death. Tests showed there was nothing wrong with her diving gear.

leech therapy

i heard about this, but last saturday at serikin market, i finally saw it for the first time. and surprisingly, there are quite a number of people who are willing to pay, for a 2 to 5 cm long leach (RM10 each)to suck their blood. according to them, this is one the best, yet natural, ancient healthy therapies available, it sucks the useless blood away. after one hour of therapy, (just leave the worn on your knee or foot whersoever),enjoy its bites on and off, it will become double the original size, i.e. from 5cm to 10cm long or more, and it is good for a week.

i am not quite sure about paying to be sucked. if it sucks fat rather blood, i will definitely be the first to line up.

many things to buy at Serikin, just beware of expensive GuRci or fake antiques.

Cycling to work, working to dive?

Effective tonight, petrol will be 78 sen higher for every litre.Diesel RM1 more for each litre. follow by electricity tariffs increase 20%.

i am not surprise if Laksa Auntie will increase the price of her laksa again tomorrow, just like what she did few months ago, when chicken and pork's price soaring a while ago.
(eventhough there is little chicken floss and no pork in laksa).

yesterday morning, when friends and colleagues asked me what is the latest update on the fuel price, i told them what i read from paper, it is likely to increase up to 50% or more, but only will be implemented in August.

the response is, we all have to save money to buy bicycle soon. later around 5pm, i was told pm is going to hold a press conference annoucing the new subsidy fuel price, but east malaysia will be exempted!!!!!

an hour later, the shocking news was confirmed (no privilege for east malaysians), so as the need to buy a bicycle. but, just not enough time to look for a suitable and cheap 2nd hand bike, as everyone was rushing to the petrol stations.

I am so happy that i had just filled my tank in the afternoon. when everyone was talking about the price, transportation cost,....where to buy cheap bike, when to start cycling to work ..... bla bla bla ..... but all i think about is the cost to go scuba diving. (i know...)

with the fuel hike, transportation cost to go scuba diving, (car + boat) will increase as well, which makes this costly sport even more expensive now.

i am pretty sure the cost i save on fuel every month can pay for my trip to go diving. but i am not sure whether cycling to work will effect my performance, or punctuality to every assignment, and eventually loss my job. and without my job, i cannot even pay for Laksa Auntie's rip off!!!

all malaysians, especially hard core divers, are in deep trouble now!
